Mr. M. Naseem Saigol 
Director/Chairman

Mr. M. Naseem Saigol is son of Mr. M. Yousuf Saigol, has done Chemical Engineering from USA. He is one of the pioneer industrialists in Pakistan. The Saigols dynasty was originally doing business in Calcutta and after Indo-Pak partition they migrated to Pakistan and set up one of the largest textile unit under the banner of Kohinoor Textile Mills Limited in Faisalabad (formerly Lyallpur) the textile city of Pakistan. Thereafter they formed a largest Chemical Complex in Kalashah Kaku. Saigols family is also founder of the United Bank Limited established in 1959 which became the third largest banking network in the early years of Pakistan.
 

Mr. Naseem Saigol being an eminent textile entrepreneur has also the honor to provide technical and management expertise to the governments of Libya, Somalia and Tanzania for establishing textile industry in their countries.
 

Thereafter diversifying to manufacturing and assembling of home appliances he brought another brand name Pak Elektron Limited (PEL). PEL is comprises of Appliances and Power Divisions. Refrigerators, Air conditioners, Microwave Ovens, Washing Machines, Water Dispensers, Generators, Transformers, Switchgears and Energy Meters are major appliances and electrical equipments that are produced by PEL.
 

In 1994 at the time when Pakistan was facing a severe shortage of power supply, he came up with the vision to serve the nation through power industry. He joined his hands with Tomen Corporation Japan (later on acquired by Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Japan) and formed Kohinoor Energy Limited (KEL) as an Independent Power Producer. KEL is proudly contributing to the dire power needs of the country.
 

He had also been the Chairman of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), Vice President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is member of Industrial Employees Association. Mr. M. Naseem Saigol through his business group in terms of services, manufacturing home appliances and electrical equipment, textile products and exports thereof, and power generation, is not only contributing to exchequer and the GDP of the country but also bestows businesses to local vendor industry and providing job opportunities to thousands of Pakistanis.
 

Besides member and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of KEL since its inception Mr. M. Naseem Saigol is also Director/Chairman of Pak Electron Ltd, Kohinoor Industries Ltd, Azam Textile Mills Ltd, Saritow Spinning Mills Ltd and Kohinoor Power Company Ltd.
 

 
Mr. S M Shakeel
Director/CEO

Mr. S M Shakeel is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He joined A.F. Ferguson & Company in 1990, and passed as a CA in 1994, with distinction and honors.

In 1994, he joined the Saigols Group as Manager Finance and was soon promoted to the position of General Manager Finance.

He has been on the Board of the Kohinoor Energy Limited from April, 2000. He was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of the Company in 2008, and was elevated to be the CEO of the Company in 2016. Mr. Shakeel is also serving on the HR & Remuneration Committee of the Company.

Mr. Shakeel carries a wide range of experience in the fields of project development, business management, financial management and restructuring, and corporate & tax administration.

The initiatives taken by him, have transformed the Company as one of the best managed IPPs of the country; and significantly enhanced on all the parameters relating to the performance of a power plant ie safety, availability, reliability and fuel efficiency of the power plant. This helped substantially increase the value for the shareholders of the Company.

He is also a member of the BOD of Pak Elektron Limited, a Saigols Group Company listed on Pakistan Stock Exchange.

 

 
Mr. Hirokazu Ishii 
Director

Mr. Hirokazu Ishii  holding nationality of Japan, graduated from Kwansei Gakuin University in 2005 with degree in Business and soon after graduation he joined Toyota Tsusho Corporation Japan and remain associated with Energy Plant Planning Department and Power Project Development.  Since, April 2020 Mr. Ishii is serving in Power Project Development Department and Asset Management Department as Senior Associate, Asset Management Group of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Japan. Since, May 2020 Mr. Ishii has joined the Board of Kohinoor Energy

 

 
Mr. Ryo Aoe 
Director

Mr. Ryo Aoe  holding nationality of Japan, graduated from Rikkyo University in 1998 with degree in Economics and soon after graduation he joined Toyota Tsusho Corporation Japan and remain associated with Sales Business Promotion Department, Audit, Financial Advisory Services and Energy Business Development Department.  Since, April 2016 Mr. Ryo is serving in Machinery, Energy & Project Planning Department as Project Manager of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Japan.
 

Since, April 2019 Ms. Ryo has joined the Board of Kohinoor Energy Limited and the Board has also appointed him as member of its Audit Committee HR & Remuneration Committee.

 

 

Ms. Mariko Ueda 
Director

Ms. Mariko Ueda holding nationality of Japan, graduated from Gakushuin University in 2009 with degree in German Literature and soon after graduation she joined Toyota Tsusho Corporation Japan and remain associated with Tokyo Machinery department. She has been worked on different positions, From Apr-09 to Mar-10 in Machinery and Electronics planning Department, From Apr-10 to Sep-11  in Global Machinery Parts and Tools Supply Department, Oct-11 to Mar-13 in Toyotsu Machinery Corporation, From Apr-13 to Mar-15 in Energy Infrastructure Department, Apr-15 to Mar-18 in Power Project Development Department (Water Business and Renewable Energy). Since, April 2018  Ms. Ueda is serving in Power Project Development Department (Machinery, energy & Project Division) of Toyota Tsusho Corporation.
 

Since, April 2018 Ms. Ueda has joined the Board of Kohinoor Energy Limited and the Board has also appointed him as member of its Audit Committee HR & Remuneration Committee.
 

 
Mr. Shingo Ito 
Director

Mr. Shingo Ito holding nationality of Japan, graduated from Nagoya University in 1983 with degree in Technology and soon after graduation he joined Toyota Tsusho Corporation Japan and remain associated with automobile parts department. Since, May 2009 Mr. Ito is serving as Automotive Business Innovation Department as Branch Manager (Belgium & Germany) of Toyota Tsusho Europe S.A. He served as General Manager of Toyota Tsusho (Shanghai) from April 2013 to April 2015 and he is working as General Manager of Toyotsu Logistics Service, Co. Ltd.
 

Since, April 2018 Mr. Ito has joined the Board of Kohinoor Energy Limited and the Board has also appointed him as member of its Audit Committee HR & Remuneration Committee.

Mr. Faisal Riaz 
Director

Mr. Faisal Riaz has done Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA) from the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan in 1999. He has completed the studies for Certified Public Accountant (CPA-USA). He has professional affiliations as fellow member of Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) and Associate member of Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants (PIPFA).
 

Mr. Faisal has been associated with Wärtsilä since 2005 and during his tenure he has performed different roles. Wärtsilä is a well known multinational leading name in Power Generation and Marine business since 1834, having its Head Quarter in Finland, with existence in more than 70 countries all across the world with the strength of more than 19,000 employees globally, having annual turnover of  around 5,000 Million Euros.
 

Currently he is working as Business Controller at Wärtsilä for Middle and South Asia Region covering 16 countries. Key focus areas are development of new business plans, coordinating the setup of new legal setups and implementation of organizations’ long term strategy. He has also been playing key role during new mergers and acquisitions making business a ‘successes’. Moreover he is supporting the management of Wärtsilä as a role of ‘Strategic developer’ to formulate the business visions and taking necessary actions which are must for the growth and business continuity of an organization.
 

Since, Nov 01, 2018 Mr. Faisal is also performing as Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of Wärtsilä Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited and since Jan 07, 2019 he has also been assigned on the Board of KEL as director.
